I love this film. Most of the the filming was done in north Scottsdale and north Phoenix. There’s also lots of scenes in Pinal County near the Supes. Despite being born the year this film was made, I still remember Phoenix looking like this. My dad used to take us out to ride our three wheeler in the spot where H.I. and Ed’s trailer was.

It is a lot of fun trying to figure out where they filmed based on the hills and mountains in the background.

My pops and I at Sun Devil stadium in the early ‘90s. That’s my war face. My dad knew Phil Villapiano growing up in New Jersey and always held a soft spot for the Raiders. I think my uncle still drinks with him.   My grandpa took this pic. They upgraded his season tickets after he developed colon cancer, so he didn’t have to walk up the bleachers. We would park in the Salt River (now Tempe Town Lakes) then hike up into the stadium. I’m wearing Ricky Prohl’s sweatband that he gave me in this photo. My dad yelled some Jersey shit at him and he threw it to me.  Still have it.

One of the best final scenes of any film. And apparently internet vaporware.

This is from the 2008 movie Valkyrie. It was filmed at Johnson Valley, California at an area called Cougar Buttes. How do I know this? I was camping out there when they were filming it. They had a big area taped off and Tom Cruise would fly in every morning in a helicopter.

This is what the area usually looks like (not my photo). They edited out all the scrub bushes in the movie.

Awww shit...I remember when that came out. I have to admit to really enjoying watch Holly Hunter and Nic Cage work together. And then Cage went stupid and Hunter went off to make The Piano...Holly Hunter is awesome.

No one in Arizona talks like any of the actors in the film, except maybe the people in the bank robbery scene. However, Holly Hunter does a great job representing Arizonan women. They balance out us idiots.
